Starter’s Guide to Olympic Hockey Betting

Olympic Hockey Betting is not overly difficult. Actually, the prospect of backing the winner with the 2010 Tournament are pretty good. A high level Canadian which is. But the biggest issue with betting this current year around the Olympics will be the new rules. The Ice has a smaller footprint, NHL sized where there are a host of changes towards the gameplay. Never to mention there isn’t any shootout in Olympic Hockey.

Here’s the way in which should go about choosing your team in 2010:

1. Stay away from your home country. It’s always tempting to back other whatevers but I am not saying it’s smart money to do so. Think using your head not your heart in terms of setting up funds on the tournament. You might turn out betting around the Americans, but up to that should bother you emotionally, it’s actually a financial investment after all.

2. Go with experience. This means avoiding anything that’s just a little bit too flashy. The team with more young guys usually won’t have the mental metal to make it to the medal games. Stay away, or bet on them at your own risk.

3. No old men!! That does add some Canadian Blueline. Old guys in your team make a vulnerability in relation to a good tournament where there are no replacements.

4. Back a team with a capable goaltender. Within the clutch this is where it counts. But I am not saying Brodeur and Luongo are automatics. Both of them demonstrate big game weakness. You might be better off going with Finland or Sweden.

Olympic Hockey – What’s The Whole Thing About?

Betting about the big teams seems to come naturally to most new bettors and anybody who is looking to put money upon the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. However, when you’d like to to create some bucks, consider trying your hand at betting on the lesser-known and lesser-backs sides. These teams usually have much better odds and with a lengthy tournament lasting almost the whole 2 2 or 3 weeks of the Games, longevity can be quite a thorn for ALL the major players.

Canada and Russia currently have as much as possible to their rear. Followed closely from the Swedes and Team USA. Though the smart money during the 2010 Olympic Hockey Tournament surely lies with teams like Finland along with the Czech republic. Have incredibly experienced rosters with stacks of potential and NHL talent. And also, you may also put a prob bet down on these teams for making the Semi Finals and you’re virtually bound to get well odds than you should putting down money on the Big Teams to win the tournament.

Another idea is to be the Quarter Finals and back a team like Belarus. Last Olympics they were shock Semi Finalists. So a bet on them this time around could look at you earn some money if they get to the quarter final rounds.

Canada and Russia have invested a lot of time and energy on their big lines but should some of their key players like Crosby or Ovechkin sustain a critical injury, those teams will see their odds fully stretch rapidly. Whereas the lesser-knowns will probably remain better quality through the tournament. Keep in mind that with Olympic Hockey Betting, less can often be more.
